Spectre Latvia has chosen to be a company with a high level of social responsibility.

Voluntarily incorporating social, environmental, and human rights into the company’s strategic planning, company values, daily activities, and relationships with company stakeholders. As proof of the company’s social responsibility activities, Spectre Latvia has obtained the SA 8000 Social Responsibility (Social Accountability) standard and the ISO 14001 environmental management standard.

The company’s Strategic Focus Areas in the field of social responsibility are:

  • Environment
  • People
  • Ethical business (e.g., Anti-Corruption)
  • Reporting

Promoting social responsibility in Spectre involves cooperating with international organizations such as the Fair Labour Association (FLA) and Fair Wear Foundation (FWF). They are also members of the United Nations “Global Compact,” annually providing a progress report about corporate social responsibility and human rights.

As a company, Spectre Latvia believes that employees spend a large part of their lives working for the company, so they are to be treated with respect and dignity. Moreover, a sustainable workforce is central to our business due to the labour-intensive industry we are in. Providing proper working conditions is a vital and obvious area of focus.

SA8000 is an international standardized code of conduct for improving working conditions around the world. The standard is third-party audited every 6 months and the certificate is valid for 3 years.

The management system requirements of SA8000 move beyond a checklist approach, encouraging managers to make sustainable systemic changes in how they run their businesses.

The normative elements of this standard are based on national law, international human rights, and the conventions of the ILO.

The SA 8000 certificate proves that the company’s social responsibility system is evaluated and compared with the best practice standards and is found compliant. A certificate issued by an independent third-party certification body certifies that the company respects human rights.

In addition to the priorities of social responsibility, the company is also trying to pay tribute to nature and its resources.

We set and realize smaller and larger goals that reduce impact on the environment in our daily work:

  • For example, instead of small bottles, Spectre Latvia uses large plastic bottles, which reduces the amount of plastic waste;
  • The company is constantly improving our working techniques and reducing the amount of waste;
  • Much attention is paid to waste separation and recycling, including the company’s own fabric production waste recycling;
  • Electricity economy and savings;
  • When purchasing goods, Spectre Latvia gives priority to energy-efficient and environmentally friendly products and equipment that will help reduce the impact on the environment on a daily basis.

As proof of the company’s serious responsibility for the environment and care for it, they have obtained the energy efficiency standard ISO 50001 and have certified their environmental management system, obtaining the ISO 14001 standard, which they are very proud of.
