At CEMEX, we prioritize environmental stewardship across all our operations. Our efforts in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability have been recognized by external agencies, highlighting our ability to positively impact biodiversity in communities worldwide.

Achievements in the Czech Republic

CEMEX in the Czech Republic received accolades for its Biodiversity Action Plan at the Náklo site. Recognized in the “Green Bridge” competition by the Mining Union for best revitalization projects, and awarded the silver certificate in the “Environmental Leader” category by Business for Society, this project, developed in collaboration with the Czech Society for Ornithology, focuses on maintaining biodiversity amidst ongoing mining operations. Notably, it contributed to the conservation of endangered species like the Equisetum variegatum.

Innovation in Sustainable Technologies

CEMEX’s Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) earned 2nd place in the Gulf Sustainability and CSR Awards for its innovative approach to sustainable paving solutions in the Gulf Region. RCC offers durability comparable to traditional concrete, reduces CO2 emissions, and improves fuel efficiency, making it a pioneering choice in sustainable infrastructure.

Excellence in CSR Practices in France

In France, CEMEX was re-evaluated by ECOCERT in 2016 and achieved an “excellence” rating for its CSR practices across 318 operational and administrative sites. Recognized strengths included site management, biodiversity conservation efforts, community engagement, and commitment to safety.
