FUJIFILM wins Minister of the Environment Silver Award for establishing sustainable society

FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) has won the Minister of the Environment Silver Award in the environmental and sustainable company category of the “ESG Finance Awards Japan,” launched by the Ministry of the Environment. The ESG Finance Awards Japan commends businesses that incorporate important environment-related opportunities and risks into management strategy to boost their corporate value while mitigating the environmental impact of their operations. Fujifilm has received this honor in recognition of its active efforts to establish a sustainable society from the perspective of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) criteria. Five companies, including FUJIFILM Holdings, have become the first group to receive the Minister of the Environment Awards (Gold and Silver).

Fujifilm’s business activities are built on its strong belief, upheld since its foundation, that “environmental conservation is at the core of Fujifilm’s corporate activities.” This belief forms the starting point of the Fujifilm Group’s CSR activities. To contribute to the establishment of a sustainable society as a global corporation, the company has drawn up the CSR plan “Sustainable Value Plan 2030 (SVP2030),” setting out its long-term visions in line with various demands of international society, including the SDGs. The company is actively promoting actions on ESG by recognizing and addressing mid- to long-term risks to its business arising from social issues such as those mentioned in the SDGs. The company perceives the challenge of resolving such social issues as an opportunity to create new business and reflects this in its business strategy.

Under the corporate slogan “Value from Innovation,” FUJIFILM Holdings will continue to position ESG as the core management foundation and create new value through the development of products, services, and technologies, thereby contributing to resolving social issues and boosting its corporate value.
