Signing a framework agreement between the United Nations and the Ministry of Planning to enhance sustainable development in Libya
Minister of Planning in the Government of National Unity, Mohamed El-Zaidani, and the Resident Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations in Libya, Georgie Gagnon, signed a framework agreement for cooperation between Libya and the international organization in the field of sustainable development.
The United Nations Office in Libya stated on its Facebook page that the cooperation framework agreement signed with the Ministry of Planning aims to “enhance the sustainable development agenda in Libya and invest in its people, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals,” where the international organization seeks to “support a more peaceful and stable Libya where people and the planet can thrive.”
The Government’s Media and Communications Administration explained on its Facebook page that the agreement regulates technical cooperation between the Government of National Unity and UN agencies, considering the Ministry of Planning as the main partner of the international organization in this field, noting that the signing ceremony was attended by the Director of the United Nations Development Programme and the Resident Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
