McDonald’s Malaysia and RMHC Malaysia Honored at CSR Malaysia Awards 2019

McDonald’s Malaysia and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC Malaysia) were recognized for their impactful contributions to Malaysia’s socio-economic landscape at the CSR Malaysia Awards 2019.

The awards ceremony, graced by YB Hannah Yeoh, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, applauded McDonald’s Malaysia and RMHC Malaysia for their unprecedented initiatives. These efforts include providing healthcare, education, and welfare support to underprivileged children across the country.

McDonald’s Malaysia secured the prestigious Company of the Year Award in the Quick Service category for the second consecutive year. This accolade acknowledged McDonald’s Malaysia’s commitment to corporate social responsibility through initiatives like the McDonald’s Teachers’ Programme 2018 and McDonald’s Community Month, aimed at enriching the lives of disadvantaged children.

At the heart of McDonald’s Malaysia’s CSR strategy is its belief in nurturing future leaders among children. Recognizing teachers as crucial influencers in shaping young minds, McDonald’s Malaysia launched the Teachers’ Programme to honor and support educators who demonstrate exceptional dedication. Supported by the Ministry of Education, the programme impacted nearly 19,000 teachers and included investments totaling approximately RM1.6 million in sponsorships and contributions.

McDonald’s Malaysia continues to lead with initiatives that celebrate and support educators, underscoring its commitment to empowering the next generation and contributing positively to Malaysian society.
