Libya participates in United Nations meetings on achieving sustainable development goals
Minister of Housing and Reconstruction in the National Unity Government Abu Bakr Al-Ghawi participated in a high-level meeting of the United Nations General Assembly to evaluate the implementation of the new urban agenda, at the General Assembly Hall in New York.
The Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction’s media office stated that during the meeting held on Thursday, there was listening and discussion with representatives of the member states of the United Nations General Assembly regarding the evaluation of the new urban agenda and their specific recommendations.
Al-Ghawi reviewed during the meeting the steps and decisions taken by the National Unity Government, which contribute to achieving sustainable development goals including activating local administration by empowering municipalities to exercise their powers, establishing reconstruction funds, supporting youth, launching the youth housing initiative and needy families, and adopting the urgent short-term plan to address urban conditions at the local level within the life return plan launched by the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government.
