Greece's Piraeus Port Authority donates 4000 gifts to children in need

The Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) S.A., a member of China’s COSCO Shipping Group, donated on Wednesday 4,000 gifts to children of vulnerable families in Greece’s largest port city and the neighboring municipalities ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

As part of its corporate social responsibility program, the company will also provide food to families in need in the municipalities of Piraeus, Perama and Salamis in cooperation with local grocery stores, an e-mailed PPA S.A. press release said.

The gift cards were handed over by PPA Chairman Yu Zenggang and the top management team to Yiannis Moralis, mayor of Piraeus, Giannis Lagoudakis, mayor of Perama and Pantelis Dioletis, vice mayor for culture of Salamis.

The PPA also organized numerous other activities on the occasion of the upcoming holidays, like offering presents to children hosted in childcare institutions in the wider region, according to the press announcement.
