“Best Performance in Social Responsibility 2020” by Maroc Telecom for the seventh time in a row

The Moroccan telecommunications company “Maroc Telecom” was named “Best Performer in CSR 2020” by the independent rating agency Vigeo Eiris, while maintaining its position in the “Casablanca ESG 10” Casablanca ESG 10 Index.

The rating agency Vigeo-Eiris awarded Maroc Telecom the “Top Performer CSR 2020” award for the seventh time in a row since the introduction of this title in Morocco, Maroc Telecom said in a press release. The same source said that this title rewards the company once again for obtaining a comprehensive classification among the highest companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, at the end of the agency’s last classification cycle.

Maroc Telecom also distinguished itself in three specific criteria, on the basis of which it received high scores, namely “respect for basic human rights and prevention of violations of these rights,” “effectiveness of auditing and internal controls systems,” and “respect for freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining.” The source explained that the company maintained its presence in the “Casablanca ESG 10” index for the third year in a row, noting that this index, which was launched by the Casablanca Stock Exchange, includes 10 capitals that received the highest scores from Vigeo-Iris. This distinction confirms once again, “the interest shown by Maroc Telecom in the challenges of social responsibility, and their integration into its growth strategy, as well as the progress achieved over the years to enhance its contribution to reducing the digital divide and sustainable development.”
