7-Eleven Malaysia wins CSR award for four consecutive years
7-Eleven Malaysia: ‘Company of The Year’ in Retail for 2020
The nation’s leading standalone convenience store chain, 7-Eleven Malaysia, was awarded ‘Company of The Year’ in the Retail category for 2020, making this their fourth consecutive win in the prestigious Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards since its inception in 2017.
The annual CSR Malaysia Awards is a joint effort by the CSR Malaysia publication and Corporate Sustainability & Responsibility Malaysia Welfare Society, with support from The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development. The awards honor outstanding corporations in Malaysia that have excelled as change agents in the socio-economic transformation of Malaysia, promoting sustainable economies and serving the needy.
Recipients are selected by a panel of esteemed judges, encompassing both corporate and social bodies. The judging criteria are based on a clear purpose and goals of the company in their corporate social responsibility initiatives, along with the impact created and frequency of CSR events held.
Since earlier this year, 7-Eleven Malaysia has collectively contributed more than RM1 million worth of essentials, including test kits, personal protective equipment, and essential items to various government bodies and NGOs nationwide. These efforts aim to alleviate the burden brought upon by the Covid-19 pandemic, and the company remains committed to supporting the community during these trying times.
