APM Terminals Poti wins CSR Award with Revolver Spreader Project
APM Terminals Poti, Poti Sea Port Corporation has been named the winner in the UN SDGs Category of Sustainable Cities and Communities at CSR Award held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
APM Terminals Poti has applied to the contest with the Revolving Spreader project, which is a new technology for handling bulk cargo and is distinguished by being an environmentally friendly solution. This special mobile crane device reduces the harm caused by the processing of bulk load on the environment, increases efficiency and decreases the risk of human health and safety. At the same time, the turnover and effectiveness of the port is significantly increased.
This year’s CSR Award was organized by local CSR Club and United Nations Global Compact
Network and winning categories were based on UN Sustainable Development Goals. More than 40 applications from 33 major and middle-sized companies have been submitted for mentioned 5 SDG categories and APM Terminals Poti has competed 8 applications.

CSR Award is celebrated already the second year in Georgia and aims at encouraging companies to do socially responsible business and engaging them in implementation process of Sustainable Development Agenda. It has to be mentioned, that APM Terminals Poti has won CSR Award back as well, in terms of “The Best Human Rights Project,” with Road Safety Trainings. The project has been focused on raising safety awareness to the truck drivers who were entering port premises. As of today’s information, more than 3600 drivers have taken the trainings.
